Some Sunday Pics...

Just a few pics from our day!

Standing... it looks like he's holding on, but he's actually holding onto a hairbrush... and standing by himself! He does this when he's not paying attention :)

So cute all dressed for church!

Who knew a hairbrush could be so entertaining?!?! And must feel nice on the gums!

Cade saw his little cousin, Brady today.

I thought these pics were too funny... the only way to get them to be this still is to turn on cartoons.

Just a few new pics...

Can you believe this was just 2 days after Christmas?!?! Derek is wearing SHORTS! Okay, KY weather has a tendency to be like this... I was glad because we took Cade's new ride outside for a little bit. Not long though because the wind kept taking his breath away (and his hat!)

Enjoying his Sing-Along-Stage. I'll say it again, this is an AWESOME toy. Cade loves it.
Photobucket

Playing with my old keyboard. I just thought it was cute because he has that tongue stuck out. He's getting pretty good on the keys. He knows not to bang... he is really gentle & very thoughtful :)
Photobucket

After a bath in his new puppy towel. So cute!

And last... you can tell our little man is teething. Look at those rosey red cheeks!

A few little updates...

Sorry it's been a few days since I've updated. I guess we've just been recovering from the holidays this week. Thought I'd better update a little before I get in trouble with my readers ;)

Cade has 2 new teeth... both of his top front teeth came in this week. They are just below the gum line, barely noticeable, but they're DEFINITELY there! For one thing, his bite HURTS! And I guess because it's new, he thinks he should grit them with his bottom teeth, which sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me!

He is finally mobile. He doesn't exactly crawl on all 4s but he can get across the living room doing the army crawl in a matter of seconds! He's really fast. Just kind of drags himself on his belly. It's so funny.

He is getting much better at entertaining himself for longer periods of time. He will sit in the floor & play with all his new toys. I have a basket that I pile all of his little toys into... he loves getting into that basket and pulling out toys, one at a time, playing with one for a while, throwing it in the floor and then moving on to the next toy. He eventually empties the basket and then my living room looks like a disaster!

He's eating really well, new finger foods and table foods all the time. Still can't get him to actually feed himself but I'm sure that my rotten boy will eventually figure it out.

He is really starting to jabber now. Lately it has been "da da da da da da" until I think my head will explode. I asked him to please throw in some "mom mom" too, just to humor me. He DOES say "mom mom" when he wants me or is crying... but for the other 20 hours in the day, it's "da da". And then there are the random jabbering sounds. I caught him talking to his rubber duckie in the bathtub the other night. He was just looking at it and jabbering. I just couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking!

That's it for now! I'll post some new pics when I get them uploaded. Hope you all had a happy New Year!

Cade Saw Santa!!!

I'm so proud of my baby boy! He LOVED Santa! I was so afraid he'd scream but he was all smiles -- well, except for when they took his picture, as you can see! After the picture, Santa turned Cade around & laid him up on his belly and started pinching on his cheeks... Cade just patted Santa's face & beard. It was so cute :)

edited to add: I just noticed something, Cade has cut his 2nd tooth today! Wow, what a day! :)

Teething BITES!!!

I was REALLY hoping that after the first tooth cut, it would be smooth sailing. Not the case. Poor little guy is miserable as ever & I'm pretty sure it's all thanks to that 2nd bottom tooth that is going to pop through any day (fingers crossed!)

Miserable or not, he'll always smile for the camera!
Photobucket

He is "trying" to show you his new tooth... it's just not hardly high enough above the gum line to see with the naked eye.
Photobucket

Enjoying a COLD teething ring... good stuff.
Photobucket

Maybe it would fit better if I held it up like this?
Photobucket

What is this thing anyway?
Photobucket

Sure feels nice!
Photobucket

Okay, so teething really does bite, but we still have fun... Cade is still playing up a storm & learning new things every day. His newest discovery is the coffee table. He thinks he's doing something really big if he scoots/rolls underneath it.
Photobucket

How rotten does he look here!?!?
Photobucket

And finally, a shot with daddy... right before bedtime.
Gotta love the mohawk!

ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!

We have a TOOTH!!! :)

Not a big deal, right?!?! Well, if you live in THIS house, it is a VERY big deal!!! My poor baby has been miserable trying to cut this tooth. It's barely visible, just at the gum line right now, but you can see it and you can DEFINITELY feel it! It's his lower right front. I was hoping he'd get both bottom teeth at one time but I guess teething isn't going to come easy for our little guy.

Just wanted to share our good news!!!

I know this one doesn't look real but that's not a painted background, I swear!

Want to know how you can tell if a baby is teething???

Hands are either in the mouth or on the ears at all times!

This is my favorite... I love him!

There are more photos in my photobucket! Go take a looksie! :)

Sunday's Lesson: Babies Don't "Fall Back"

Ugh. I ALWAYS look forward to that extra hour of sleep when the time changes in the fall. Evidently no one told Cade that we "fell back" an hour. He always gets up at 6:00 a.m. So he got up at 5:00 a.m. this morning, wide away & playing.

Great.

I really thought he'd sleep for awhile longer because I also had to get up at 4:00 and give him a bottle. His sleeping schedule has already been out of whack because of his teething & growth spurt combo... Now that the time changed, it's like we've made zero progress getting back to normal.

But on a happy note, so far he has been in a great mood today... which is wonderful considering the rough ride he had home last night. I think a good nights sleep in his bed is all he needed. After he got up at 5a.m., he laid back down for a 2 hour nap from 7-9a.m.! (momma took one too!)

The floor is open for suggestions...

What do you do with a 7 month old baby who HATES riding in the car & gets car sick almost every time he has to be traveling for longer than 30 minutes???

This is a new "thing" and something that I never expected, thought of, even knew existed. A baby that hates riding in the car. I seriously think/wonder/believe (yeah, I'm confused too) that I can blame it all on the teething. He's only been getting sick & screaming bloody murder for the past few weeks... he has been teething like CRAZY for the past few weeks. I know his tummy is upset so maybe the long car rides are making him sicker? Derek suggested that maybe an altitude change is making his ears hurt worse? (seems that he cries worse when we're on our way back home -- going uphill -- my ears pop every time so I'm sure his do too) And I think he's a little scared of the dark too... it's a million times worse if we travel when it's dark out.

So the floor is open to suggestions. I'm considering a DVD player for the back seat. It might at least distract him from his upset tummy or the pain in his ears, or fear of the dark. Maybe. I will try anything at this point... because if we don't find a solution, we won't be traveling far anymore!

Oh yeah, and before you ask... still no teeth.

Since I know everyone is looking for an update...

There's not much new going on, but wanted to post a little "update" since I know that a lot of you check our blog daily.

The major thing going on right now is that Cade is teething like crazy... poor little guy is miserable. It is causing him to have some difficulty sleeping... he's been waking a lot during the night which means momma has been getting little sleep. I hope that it will pass soon though. He will cut those teeth (hopefully all at once!) and we can get back to normal. But as of right now, he's still just gumming away at everything. If you get close, LOOK OUT, he's like a little shark!

We had his pictures made on Wednesday. He was sooooo good & did such a great job, putting up with 3-4 women trying to get his attention, trying to get him to smile... it was quite an ordeal... almost 3 hours to be exact! I resorted to singing the Little Einstein's theme song over and over and over... it was the only thing that would make him smile. I would NEVER sing in front of anyone before Cade came along... now I'm singing in front of strangers just to make my kid smile. I haven't seen how they turned out but I'm sure we got some great ones! We had a few wardrobe changes and we were ALL worn out by the time it was over. Poor little Cade was still tired today from his professional photo shoot. Now maybe he won't mind his mommy's photo shoots so much!

We've started giving Cade baths in the BIG tub. He loves it! Loves the water, loves his duckies, I think he'd stay in there all night. He sits up all by himself and plays until he's all shriveled up... he hasn't really figured out how to splash yet but I'm sure that's soon to come. And of course I took some pictures to commemorate his first time in the bathtub! (I'm sure he'll hate me for this someday)... so here he is, in the big tub!

One other really cute thing he's started doing is giving hugs and kisses!!! There is NOTHING better in this world than your little baby boy squeezing you around the neck and giving you a big open mouth kiss right on the cheek (or sometimes he aims for the mouth, LOL)... I absolutely love it! It makes all of those 4:00 a.m. feedings (and sometimes the starts to our day) more bearable.

Cade & Brady...

Cade & Brady visited over the weekend... they are so funny together. Brady has been teething for the first time, so he is very interested in how everything tastes... and he was especially interested in biting Cade!

Straight for the eyes...
