Cade's 1st BIG Snow!
We've had snow this winter, but nothing like what we got last night! So we thought we'd bundle the baby up & take him outside for a few minutes... and that's about all he lasted... a few minutes. His mittens wouldn't stay on so the minute his hand touched the cold stuff, he was D-O-N-E. LOL
And I know it just looks like he has on a sleeper, but that's actually a pair of PJs & 2 sleepers, one of which is a Carter's sleeper, and I am just going to go ahead and give kudos to Carters because I swear it is waterproof. He sat in the snow & it didn't even absorb into his monkey sleeper!
Getting ready to go outside... he is probably wondering what in the world I'm doing to him, haha.
Me & Cade in the snow :)
Daddy & Cade
He couldn't sit up on his own because he had on so many layers.
And he wasn't crazy about it touching his hands.
LOL
I have a feeling that next winter will be a blast! Snowmen... sledding... we will ALL need snowsuits & boots next year! :)

Some Sunday Pics...
Just a few pics from our day!
Standing... it looks like he's holding on, but he's actually holding onto a hairbrush... and standing by himself! He does this when he's not paying attention :)
So cute all dressed for church!
Who knew a hairbrush could be so entertaining?!?! And must feel nice on the gums!
Cade saw his little cousin, Brady today.
I thought these pics were too funny... the only way to get them to be this still is to turn on cartoons.

Something nice in this not-so-nice economy...
I got this email & had to share on my blog... it brought tears to my eyes!

The Price of Children
The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140.00 for a middle income family. Talk about price shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.
But $160,140.00 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:
* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.
Still, you might think the best financial advice is - don't have children if you want to be "rich."
Actually, it is just the opposite.
What do you get for your $160,140.00?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold (usually covered with jelly or chocolate).
* A partner for blowing bubbles and flying kites.
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.
For $160,140.00, you never have to grow up. You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.
You have an excuse to:
* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watch Saturday morning cartoons,
* go to Disney movies, and
* wish on stars.
You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's
Day.
For a mere $24.24 a day, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.
You get a front row seat in history to witness the:
* first step,
* first word,
* first date, and
* first time behind the wheel.
You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren.
You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.
In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, so one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!
Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren & great-grandchildren!!!
It's the best investment you'll make!

Look what I can do!
Cade has been getting really good at pulling up. At this rate, I'm pretty sure he'll be walking by his 1st birthday -- or at least getting close to it.
He loves this musical table...
Here he goes!
And he's up! He loves it even more now that he can stand at it. I think he could stand there for an hour.
Get me outta here!
He's in jail, LOL
I thought this was cute... I caught him "reading" this book the other day. It melted my heart that he was actually looking at it instead of just chewing on it!
And zooming out to the mess he makes...
And last... I LOVE LOVE LOVE walking into his crib & finding him standing there...

Our Super Baby...
Cade had his 9 Month Well Baby Exam today (yeah, even though he's 10 months, LOL, just a little late). Everything went great! We saw a new doctor today and Cade did great with him, smiled & talked & showed off a lot.
He is 20 pounds 5 ounces and 30 inches long!
The BEST part about today... NO SHOTS!!! :)
Still having trouble with his eczema but we're trying some new things & hoping to get it cleared up.
We talked about separation anxiety & stranger anxiety at this age... separation anxiety, I can already see in him. Stranger anxiety... so far he's never met a stranger!
We talked about making the switch from formula to milk at 1. Turning his carseat around at 1. ONE? Seems like he was just born yesterday!
Here are a few pictures from today... Cade in his Superman PJs. Derek had a pair of PJs like this when he was a kiddo :) It even has a little cape in the back.

Howdy!
Getting ready to run errands with momma... I thought he looked especially cute today!
I couldn't get him to smile for ME... he was too busy smiling at the cartoons!
His newest trick is climbing over the bar on the bottom of his high chair. He does it a dozen times a day.
Woo hoo! I did it again, mom!
Remember the days that I would do Cade Photoshoots & take like 60 pictures at a time?!?! Those days are over! Just getting him to sit still for ONE picture is impossible!!!
Okay, I give up! LOOK AT MY TEETH!!! :)
And finally all that work paid off!
Thanks for looking! Hope everyone is staying warm!

LOTS of pics!!!
We had to reschedule Cade's checkup today... his doctor wasn't back from her rounds at the hospital... so instead of waiting X hours (who ever knows how long it will be?) we rescheduled. So new appointment on Friday.
I've been snapping away with my camera, my little cutie just LOVES being mobile! He's into everything! I love it though. I love to watch him explore & discover new things... and it's so funny to see him take off after the cats. Their days of ruling this house are over! :)
Now for LOTS of pics!
I was bringing groceries into the house on Monday afternoon... I came into the living room & couldn't find Cade... THIS is where he was! Watching cartoons.
Early this morning... I wish I were so happy to get up in the mornings!
(love this one)
Trying out his new carseat! I think he loves it!
Crawling to momma.
Opps, there's Josie!
Just a little closer...
Look mom, I found a box!
Baby in the box!
He insists on sitting on this vent... I don't know why...
Love that little butt, LOL
And now... lots of closeups & I realize that my son sticks his tongue out 90 percent of the time!
Almost got a handfull of BRODIE!
Thanks for looking!
